![]()
Latest Release - Version 1.4 - Updated October 24, 2009
Fixed two bugs and added two new features
Bugs
- Stylesheet had a typo, border;0 instead of border:0
- There was an extraneous semi-colon in the href link, causing a w3c validation error
New features
- Added option to only have button display on-click, rather than default of on hover
- Added background color option to pop-up
A special thanks to Pep for finding the first bug and providing the code for the background color option
Latest Release - Version 1.3 - Updated July 24, 2009
The latest release of this plugin is now available. It is a bug fix that was in some cases not honoring the exclude section and category inheritance. For example, if you exclude a section id, no article within that section should display the button.
Previous Release - Version 1.2 - Updated June 15, 2009
Bug fix that was preventing the embedded stylesheet from working properly. Specifically, in version 1.1, you would see this in the stylesheet:
- .a2a_dd img {border;0′ }
That single quote after the 0 meant in most browsers the following styles would be ignored. Thus, if you tried to apply your own styling to the addtoany button, chances are it would not work. So the only change to 1.2 is to remove that single quote. If you’ve made custom changes to 1.1 yourself, you can fix it yourself on line 30 of AddToAny.php. You can download the latest version below.
Thanks to Marcel for helping me find the problem.

I recently discovered addtoany.com and their all-in-one social bookmarking tool. This is a great way to let your users share your site, without cluttering up every page with all kinds of different buttons. Also, since the addtoany button is automatically updated with the latest social sites that spring up constantly, it’s a zero maintenance solution. It even integrates with google analytics if you track at that level.
When I went to implement this on a Joomla! 1.5 system, I found out there was no existing plugin for it. So I wrote my own. It was my first attempt at a plugin, so be gentle…. Anyway, you can download the plugin here: Joomla! 1.5 AddToAny social bookmarking plugin.

very nice! the only suggestion I’d make is to allow the ability to hide the plugin from certain categories or sections. I’d like to use it on my blog section, but not on my content on the frontpage.

Nice, Rithinfront! I _think_ that’s the first Share/Save button I’ve seen running on Joomla.
If anybody has suggestions that pertain to the actual menu itself (something that doesn’t appear to be configurable by this plugin), feel free:

Also, the FAQ might have what you’re looking for:

Hello, first of all the plugin is fantastic, but I have a serious problem.
If vai on http://www.jooforge.eu, you’ll see that (once finished charging the page), if you place your mouse over the button AddToAny, you’ll see the layout wrong.
How can I fix?
